4 Stars on struggling teams the 76ers should monitor this offseason
3. Kyle Kuzma to the 76ers could be a rough pairing that works
While Kyle Kuzma has never made an All-Star team, the Washington Wizards surely treat him as one, for better or for worse. He is the undisputed centerpiece in DC, but as most people would tell you, he’ll be much better off being featured in a non-taxing role where his deficiencies are streamlined and his weaknesses are highlighted.
Enter the 76ers. Should they strike out on Paul George, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to simply load up on high-level starters and role players to avoid a top-heavy composition. Kuzma, who plays both forward positions, would quickly fill in Tobias Harris’ void, which could be jarring if Nic Batum opts to retire this summer.
Kuzma can still be pretty erratic offensively, but he should see his efficinecy spike as a play finisher who can bail them out at times. He’s an above average rebounder for his position, and he can function as a secondary pressure release on the playmaking department. His length also does a lot to back him up defensively.
