2. Should Philadelphia take a flier on Aleksej Pokusevski?

If the front office is content with the roster, they can opt to use the remaining openings to take a flier or two on reclamation projects, just like they attempted to do last year with Mo Bamba. That one didn’t pan out, but it shouldn’t stop them from seeking potentially hidden gems who can thrive under a different situation.

A possible reclamation project the 76ers can take on is Aleksej Pokusevski, a former first-round pick in 2020 who showed promise as a jumbo-sized forward before struggling in recent years due to the lack of playing time. Last season, the Oklahoma City Thunder finally pulled the plug on him, trading him to the Charlotte Hornets which, in turn, waived him this offseason.

Still only 22 years old, the 76ers can do much worse than give Pokusevski a shot, even as a third fiddle. There’s still a lot to like about his potential as a point forward, and his length should definitely give him an edge at learning how to become passable on the defensive end.
