2. Tyrese Maxey is here to stay in Philadelphia
To the surprise of no one, Philly handed Tyrese Maxey a maximum extension this summer on the heels of a breakout campaign that culminated in a Most Improved Player trophy. Superstardom is awaiting the All-Star, and he should only keep on getting better from here on out as the 76ers’ present and future.
Maxey slid into the full-time point guard role admirably last season, and was largely successful finding the right mix between being a primary table-setter and a main option on the perimeter. He even bolstered his play in the postseason, nearly leading the 76ers to a series upset over the Knicks.
With a full season under his belt as a full-on floor general, expect Maxey to develop rapidly, especially as a distributor. His scoring ability from all three levels is unquestionable and should also benefit from the addition of George efficiency-wise.
