4. Kyle Lowry could end up elsewhere if surpassed in the rotation

At present, Kyle Lowry is expected to man the second-unit point guard role next season, primarily spelling Tyrese Maxey. At 38 years old, he should not be banked on to play significant minutes anymore, especially since he's not the sturdiest of bodies either.

A six-time All-Star who won a championship with Nick Nurse in Toronto, it's difficult to envisage a situation that has him getting booted out of the rotation. However, there is a conceivable path to that materializing this season –– one that includes Jared McCain, the 16th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, developing the playmaking chops and sustaining his three-level scoring to usurp the veteran.

If so, Lowry could end up on the trading block, if not the buyout market. He's still too good to exclusively relegate as a benchwarmer, but the 76ers would benefit much more, especially in the immediate future, if they are forced to hand the reigns to their talented rookie guard.
