2. Eric Gordon's reunion with Daryl Morey might be cut short

In pursuit of Houstonian poetry, Daryl Morey reunited with another former Rocket in veteran Eric Gordon, who quickly signed with the 76ers to the tune of a harmless, one-year veteran's minimum deal, instantly filling the void that Buddy Hield left after getting jettisoned this summer.

While far from the player he was in the late 2010s, the former Sixth Man of the Year still has too much pull and gravitas to burrow deep into the bench, at least to start the season off. Having said that, the likes of McCain and Ricky Council IV will surely come for his spot, and if the wheels continue to fall off, even Nick Nurse could give in and pull him aside despite his proclivity for veterans.

Gordon is unlikely to fetch relatively considerable assets for the 76ers as a trade chip, so he will most likley find himself in the buyout market if he falls out of Nurse's favor. For another team (and the 76ers, in an ideal world), he can function as a nightly X-factor on the scoring end who can hit shots from anywhere.
