2. Cedi Osman brings a well-rounded profile to Philadelphia
Philly losing Nicolas Batum may not seem like a big deal from a numbers standpoint, but you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who didn’t want him back on the team this offseason. After all, the veteran forward was simply a perfect fit for both Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey as a low-usage, two-way connector whom you can bank on not to make a mistake.
Batum has been in the NBA zeitgeist for almost two decades, and that amount of exerience isn’t something you can easily replicate. However, someone like Cedi Osman, who touts a similar skill set (save for defense) could be up for the task.
Osman spent last season for a San Antonio team that utterly lacked offensive organization, but he still thrived as their resident second-unit, plug-and-play cog. He shot the three well, chased space much better than most on the roster, and passed the ball efficiently — traits that would reduce the impact of Batum leaving the 76ers to return to Hollywood.
