3. Can the 76ers open up an ideal role for Lonnie Walker IV?
Another talented wing looking for a consistent moving forward is Lonnie Walker IV. The explosive guard, who spent this season with the Brooklyn Nets, actually registered solid numbers despite his limited role for the struggling team as one of their gunners off the bench.
Unfortunately, despite looking good in spurts, the Nets never truly gave him a shot at a consistent role as the 25-year-old normed just 17.4 minutes per outing, his lowest mark since his sophomore year. Thus, it would come as no surprise if Brooklyn lets him walk away in free agency given their lack of concrete plan for the youngster.
For a roster littered by aging parts this year, the 76ers could keep an eye on Walker as a rotation filler for next season. De’Anthony Melton, Buddy Hield, and Cameron Payne are flight risks, and considering their handcuffed position with Kelly Oubre Jr., locking in a potential bench scorer in Walker could be a bang-for-the-buck move for the front office.
