6 Role players 76ers could target to complement Joel Embiid

Isaiah Hartenstein
Perhaps the most important type of role player for Philly to seek out this offseason is an additional backup center. Paul Reed can be serviceable, but there are certainly better options out there. One big man the 76ers could look at is Isaiah Hartenstein.
One of the most overlooked aspects of playing center in the NBA today is the fundamentals. Setting solid screens, rolling well, and cleaning up on the glass are overlooked aspects of the game now that are all essential arts to executing well on the interior. Hartenstein checks all those boxes and is one of the better backup centers in the association.
Mason Plumlee
Another option for Philadelphia to consider is Mason Plumlee. The Clippers' backup big man, Mason has built out an excellent career as a reliable option in the paint. Plumlee does not do any one thing exceptionally well, but he has a high IQ and produces consistently as a consummate professional.
He is the type of guy that can help contribute to building a championship mindset within a locker room. Unafraid to make mistakes or do whatever is needed to help his team out, Mason went so far as to shoot free throws left-handed during the 2022-23 season. He would be an excellent option for the Sixers to have on the floor when Embiid needs a rest.
