76ers: 3 Things Tyrese Maxey has to improve on for the 2024-25 season

Tyrese Maxey was named an All-Star for the first time in his career, but they are several aspects of his game that he can be improved ahead of the 2024/25 season with the 76ers.

Mid-range is must in the postseason

Deep threes and mid-range shots are very crucial in today's game especially during the postseason. Maxey did both to a good extent during the series against the Knicks. However, his game was lacking particularly in the mid-range area during the regular season. He only shot on a 35% clip from the mid-range area. Maxey took only 11 mid-rangers in the Knicks' series and while he had six makes, the lack of production in this area hurt the Sixers offense.

Adding an extra layer to his offensive game, Maxey can create more scoring opportunities for himself. Against tough opponents, the 4-year combo guard was watching teams trying to stop him by cutting his way to the basket. His good three-point shooting numbers kept defenses honest but Maxey should make the next step that will include adding a jumper from the middle area.

Don't get me wrong, Maxey was the reason Philadelphia remained competitive without Embiid in the regular season and kept the series against New York alive considering that the former MVP was not at his best. However, the Sixers are expected to add star power this offseason and contemplating ways to become better will help Maxey remain a top-notch star and increase the Sixers' championship potential for next season.
