The Philadelphia 76ers are merely watching from the audience box in the 2024 NBA Finals series between the Mavericks and the Celtics, but that doesn’t mean they have no means to be a proactive bunch while they await the official kick-off for the offseason.

Dallas and Boston braved through the competition and repped their respective conferences in the series to win the Larry O’Brien trophy, but no matter the result, both teams are unlikely to fully keep their rosters intact. Capitalizing on that, here are four impending free agents from both teams the 76ers should closely monitor.

1. Luke Kornet would be a tremendous depth signing for the 76ers

If this season made anything crystal clear, it’s that the 76ers badly need to double down on their functional depth behind Joel Embiid, who’s not necessarily known for being an iron man and has an extensive injury history that easing his load should be an imperative for the franchise moving forward.

One player they could look at as a potential depth piece in their center rotation is current Celtics center Luke Kornet, a very serviceable who has managed to consistently remain in his team’s usual rotation despite his squad touting the best and deepest collection of talent in the NBA.

A towering 7’2” figure, Kornet is a highly efficient backup big man who is particularly tenacious on the offensive glass and an instinctive shot blocker. Beyond his counting numbers, Kornet is a great positional defender who can cause problems for opposing big men with his frame in short spurts, making him an ideal depth signing for Philly.
