4. Reggie Bullock
Speaking of defense, it’s imperative for Philly to double down on bona fide stoppers, especially with the likes of Nicolas Batum, Kelly Oubre Jr., De’Anthony Melton, and Robert Covington being flight risks this summer. Those four are some of their better defenders this season, and at worst, the team won’t be able to retain any of them.
Enter Reggie Bullock, the 11-year veteran who spent this season with the Houston Rockets. Unfortunately, going to H-Town didn’t do him justice, as he went on average just 9.5 minutes per outing for the young squad. As a result, the swingman failed to make any noise for himself as his counting numbers significantly dwindled.
However, despite his relative no-show this year, Bullock’s billing as a defensive-minded wing stands. He’s just a year removed from being a full-blown starter, and as a career 38.5 percent three-point shooter, his overall skill set should remain plenty attractive. For what could be a veteran’s minimum signing, the 76ers should laser in on Bullock to at least assure themselves of a 3-and-D presence on the roster.
