2. Eric Gordon

The 76ers had one of the lowest scoring second units last season, thanks in large part to the team’s lack of functional depth and consistent role players. Signing a third star could only exacerbate that issue though, as it would basically handcuff the team into having a top-heavy payroll with only little to spare for more minor signings.

One proven veteran and bench operator they could look at in this case is Eric Gordon, who is likely to decline his player option the moment another team shows interest. Phoenix is also not a very stable situation right now, a development that could prompt him to seek another team in his ring-chasing journey.

The former Sixth Man of the Year has waned when it comes to his explosiveness and efficiency, but he remains a dangerous scorer who can hit from literally anywhere when he catches fire. He boasts considerable playoff experience, and still packs enough grunt to be a playable cog on the defensive end.
