5 Under-the-radar free agents the 76ers should sign this offseason
5. Cedi Osman — SF
Philadelphia has thoroughly enjoyed Batum’s subtle excellence as a utility player. However, while that may be the case, the odds of the Frenchman returning for a 17th season are low since his camp has already indicated that he’s set to hang his sneakers up after the 2024 Summer Olympics in his native country.
The 76ers should inarguably look for another player who can reprise the same role and smoothen things out for the starting unit, especially if they add another mouth to feed in their Embiid-Maxey duo. Current Spurs forward Cedi Osman is someone who certainly fits the bill, and with San Antonio unlikely to retain him, Philadelphia should pounce on the opportunity.
Osman doesn’t offer the same defensive flexibility, but he’s Batum-like in the sense that he’s a high-IQ connector who loves to move the ball and move without it. His three-point shot is serviceable at worst, and his savvy way of attacking closeouts is a wrinkle that could enhance the 76ers’ dynamic on the scoring end.
