He was active on the glass. He was a deterrent to all parties that approached the rim protecting the paint like an enforcing bodyguard. Bona will benefit from improved defensive discipline as he leaves his feet too often searching for a highlight block. But, either way, trespassers proceed with caution.
Leaping, length, and strength aren’t the only attributes that were present tonight. He also showcased his quick footed ability to cover ground effortlessly. He demonstrated the ability to hedge and recover as well as sliding his feet after an aggressive closeout.
Bona is a Bonafide ball of energy. He is a bit chaotic but clearly impactful. Developing discipline will go a long way to carving out a backup role.
