4. Dennis Schroder's expiring deal could be what the 76ers need for their guard rotation

The Philadelphia 76ers will likely start the season with Kyle Lowry as their main backup option in the point guard position, while there's still a possibility for one more addition as rookie Jared McCain was touted more as a shot-maker. He's getting reps as the main initiator in the Summer League, but the 76ers will need more in a championship or bust season.

The Brooklyn Nets entered a full-time rebuild this summer and have some intriguing veterans that can help the championship cause in Philadelphia. One of those players is veteran scoring guard Dennis Schroder. Schroder has one year remaining in his current deal worth around $13 million, and he is expected to be among the players that will get moved mid-season.

Last year, he started his campaign in Toronto but was shipped to the Nets at the trade deadline. He saw his efficiency go up in Brooklyn while averaging 14.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists through 29 games. During these 29 appearances, he shot 41.2% on a little more than five 3-point attempts per game and made 42.7% of his shots from the field.

He could provide scoring and playmaking off the bench and allow Tyrese Maxey to get more rest during games. Nonetheless, he possesses NBA playoffs expertise, having played for numerous contending franchises throughout his professional career, and he aligns with what the 76ers want to do this season.
