3. The 76ers might go bargain hunting for a former Sixth Man of the Year award recipient

So far in the off-season, Philadelphia has not added a strong off-the-bench scorer, as they were more focused on chasing a third star and adding a valid backup center behind Joel Embiid. It will be difficult to sign a player that can provide scoring off the bench at this point in the off-season, but the Sixers will have the time and the assets to fix the roster hole later.

In that case, they might want to see how things will unfold in Utah, as the franchise is set to start a renovation project. Lauri Markkanen is rumored to be in the trade block for a demanding price, and if the Jazz decide to move on from Markkanen, they will also look to engage more pieces in trade talks as the 2024–25 season progresses.

Thus, the 76ers should look into the possibility of getting Jordan Clarkson. The 2021 Sixth Man of the Year recipient is one of the best scorers in the shooting guard position. He has spent the last 4.5 seasons in Utah, being among the best performers for them. He posted averages of 17.1 points in 30.6 minutes of play through 55 games in the previous NBA regular season.

Surely, his shooting efficiency wasn't the most impressive aspect of his game (52.1 EFG%), but his numbers might have taken a hit by playing on a bad Utah Jazz team last season. Jazz president Danny Ainge is known for his ability to ask for a lot for his team's core roster pieces, but the Sixers might show willingness to add future assets to a deal. Let's not forget that Clarkson is tied to a two-year cost-friendly deal worth little more than $14 million for each season.
