5. Gordon Hayward — PF/SF (UFA)

Suprisingly traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder before the trade deadline, Gordon Hayward is slated to be a key player for the young squad in the playoffs. However, with OKC starting to prep their books for lucrative extensions to their core guys, the veteran may very well be just a half-season rental.

Hayward has been linked to Philadelphia numerous times before and during this season, and that connection shouldn’t go anywhere with the 76ers having the tools to woo him in free agency. The former All-Star isn’t the sturdiest of players, but he’s a legitimate three-level scoring threat who can function as a playmaker on the secondary and defend forwards in spurts.

Even if the 76ers do manage to snag one of their prime targets, Hayward should still be on their radar. A thin crop of win-now teams with salary cap reduces the market for his services, and the team should be able to capitalize on that to lure him to Philly without breaking the bank.
