The Philadelphia 76ers had an eventful trade deadline, but they should have tried acquiring these four recently traded players themselves.

4 Recently traded players the 76ers should’ve traded for

2. Simone Fontecchio (Utah to Detroit)

One of the earlier deals that was finalized was Utah trading forward Simone Fontecchio to the Detroit Pistons for Kevin Knox, the draft rights to Gabriele Procida, and a second-round pick. Fontecchio has been a starter this season for the most part, but considering that the second-rounder was the Wizards’ and is reckoned to be valuable, it’s unsurprising that the Jazz pulled the trigger.

The 76ers don’t own a second-round pick projected to be as valuable as the Jazz’s (via Wizards), but they could’ve consolidated some of their seconds or shipped a seldom-used player like Jaden Springer to entice Utah into trading Fontecchio to Philly instead.

Fontecchio is draining 39.1 percent of his threes this season, and boasts rangy size and length on the wing position. His defense is nothing to write home about, but he blends in seamlessly in team concepts and is not a liability on that end. He’s also got a knack for attacking closeouts and functioning as a willing driver.
