The Philadelphia 76ers had an eventful trade deadline, but they should have tried acquiring these four recently traded players themselves.

4 Recently traded players the 76ers should’ve traded for

3. Dalano Banton (Boston to Portland)

The 76ers had two of the more head-scratching deals before the deadline lapsed when they flipped Patrick Beverley to Milwaukee for Cameron Payne and a second-round pick and shipped Jaden Springer to Boston for another second (basically for cap relief). Admirable as Philly was in its sojourn toward even more financial flexibility, it’s undeniable that the team lost two of their better defenders, especially from the backcourt.

In anticipation of these deals, the 76ers should have been in the market for a depth piece in the backcourt. Then-Celtic Dalano Banton would’ve been a great under-the-radar acquisition to fill Springer’s void while they await for a buyout addition. Instead, the lanky guard was sent to the Trail Blazers for chump change.

A legitimate 6’9 guard, Banton is a worthwhile project piece who can play in spurts. His offense has been uninspiring in large part due to his lack of a reliable jumper, but he’s an intriguing and cheap young player with a lot of potential, especially on the defensive end.
