Trades, trades, trades. Most of the trade chatter these days are contrived proposals, but the frequency of such is simply a showing of how much teams are aiming for a turnover this offseason. That rings a lot louder for the Philadelphia 76ers, a franchise widely expected to undergo a drastic change this summer thanks to the ever-active trade market.

The 76ers are more likely to use free agency as a more proactive gauntlet to push them toward their much-desired roster upgrades, but there are arguably more intriguing options in the trade market. The upcoming pool of free agents boasts some promise, but it is too top-heavy and shallow at the middle to reliably count on as a lone device.

Look for the 76ers to try and trade for a high-end role player

Most trade proposals conjured by fans and pundits alike are founded on the linkages between Philly and the many stars projected to be available in some way. However, the 76ers have the machinations to hunt for that third star outright in the open market, and it’s also conceivable to think that the front office won’t rule out plunging neck-deep into the trading tables with a more modest acquisition in mind.

Having said that, there are a bunch of role players who should be available for plucking via trade with a handful of teams eyeing to retool their roster or even commence a full-blown rebuild. Here is one trade proposal that has Philadelphia making a deal for arguably the best role player available right now.
