76ers trade back for Nicolas Batum in this proposed direct swap

batum trade

Bleacher Report recently pulled out a list of realistic trade targets for each team, and as expected, the 76ers were floated with another forward, a position of actual need. Nicolas Batum, who spent a huge chunk of last season with Philly, was touted as the name to watch for the club.

Batum was a perfect complementary player for the 76ers last season, but he returned to LA this offseason. He would have been a perfect addition to this season’s nucleus, but he opted for another re-do with the Clippers, the team which gave him a second chance after a horrible stint with the Hornets.

Martin, meanwhile, was strategically re-upped by the 76ers, presumably to function as a salary-matcher for a subsequent trade. The young forward is not expected to be a part of the rotation anyway, making him an easy flip for a team trying to contend.

How does this proposed swap sound for both teams?
