Grade the Trade: 76ers land superstar forward in mock offseason blockbuster
76ers trade for Paul George in this mock blockbuster swap
In this mock offseason trade, the Philadelphia 76ers acquire Paul George from the LA Clippers via a sign-and-trade. In turn, LA receives Tobias Harris (via another sign-and-trade), the Sixers’ own unprotected first-rounder in 2026 and a top-three protected first-round pick in 2030 while rerouting the Clippers’ own 2026 first-rounder back to them.
George has a player option for next season which he’s almost guaranteed to decline. After all, this could potentially be his last big payday, and his injury history suggests that it would be wiser for him to re-negotiate with the Clippers this summer instead of prolonging things next year.
Meanwhile, the 76ers are considered long shots to pursue Tobias Harris for another go-round with the franchise. Unfortunately for him, there isn’t a wide market for his services considering the state of the teams with ample cap space this summer. Ultimately, entertaining a sign-and-trade could be the best play for the veteran.
How does this proposed trade grade out for both teams?
