The 2024 NBA Draft will be commencing in a flash, and while the annual event is typically a platform for rookies to plant themselves in the league, this year’s festivity could become quite different. After all, most teams, like the Philadelphia 76ers, will treat the draft as an opportunity to make big moves that could set them up for a stronger bid next season.

With most of their players hitting free agency, the 76ers can actually be perceived to have less options in the transaction table. Thankfully, they do have more than enough draft capital to lure teams into dealing with them which would normally be impossible without functional players as part of a return package.

The Philadelphia 76ers are a near-guarantee to make a trade on draft night

A potentially landscape-altering trade happened last night, signaling that teams are now in peak condition to go big. Not to be left behind, with all their involvement in the rumor mill, it’s almost a guarantee that the 76ers will make a trade or two later or tomorrow (thanks to the new two-day draft setup). In fact, let’s laser in on this recent trade proposal that has Philly swapping its future for a controversial star which fans are currently divided on.
