76ers acquire Lauri Markkanen in this wild trade proposal
Philadelphia 76ers receive: F Lauri Markkanen
Utah Jazz receive: C/F Paul Reed, G Jared McCain (30-day waiting period), 2026 First-Round Pick (via OKC, HOU or LAC), 2028 First-Round Pick, 2028 Second-Round Pick (via DET), 2029 First-Round Pick (via LAC), 2030 Second-Round Pick, 2031 First-Round Pick
In this trade proposal, the Philadelphia 76ers acquire Lauri Markkanen from the Utah Jazz for big man Paul Reed, rookie Jared McCain (who will be eligible to be traded 30 days after signing his contract), four future first-round picks, and two future second-rounders.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Jazz are now listening to trade offers for the one-time All-Star. While Utah’s preference is to keep and build around him, teams have reportedly began assembling aggressive trade packages, forcing them to hop into that wagon.
Philly has been floated as a popular destination for the 27-year-old, and while the team doesn’t have a lot of players they can trade, they do have a significant numbers of draft capital to potentially lure the Jazz into flipping the Finnish forward as they pivot to a full-scale rebuild.
Should the 76ers do this trade? Let’s examine the two sides of the coin.
