PIPE DREAM: Bogdan Bogdanovic — Atlanta, SG/SF

The Atlanta Hawks have been one of the most disappointing teams this season. Despite having one of the league’s most talented backcourts, two starting caliber centers, a breakout forward who should be in the Most Improve Player discussions, and perhaps the best sixth man in the league, the team has only mustered a 16-23 record, good for 11th in the East.

With a rebuild potentially in the horizon, Atlanta should start doing its due diligence on their veteran commodities. One of those is Bogdan Bogdanovic, who has been one of the biggest positives on the roster with his very impressive play off the bench for the Hawks.

Averaging 16.9 points and 2.6 assists in just 28 minutes per outing, Bogdanovic could be someone the 76ers invest in as a semi long-term piece. He’s signed through 2027 (with a team option in the final year), and is on an affordable deal.

The Serbian wing would be quite the improvement from De’Anthony Melton, who’s been mediocre offensively this season while also giving the 76ers some insurance for when Kelly Oubre Jr. outplays his puncy contract and hops off the team next season. That being said, the Hawks would certainly require a lofty price for Bogdanovic, in large part due to his solid production, in-demand skill set, and the ample roster control his deal presupposes.
