17. Lester Quinones, SG
Can he show something new in the backcourt?
Frankly speaking, the addition of Lester Quinones, which prompted the 76ers to waive a two-way player to make room, was quite puzzling. Again, the 76ers already have an embarrassment of riches in the backcourt. He will have to show something new to stay put for a while. Then again, is there anything new at this point? Prove us wrong.
16. Jeff Dowtin, PG
Can he shoulder a bigger load on the playmaking department?
The 76ers have a barrage of combo guards who are primarily scorers more than playmakers. Dowtin is of the same ilk, though he has shown improvement on that end, especially during the Summer League. Question is, can he handle a bigger piece of the pie as a table-setter?
15. Justin Edwards, SF
Can he take advantage of a brittle forward rotation?
The lanky Justin Edwards somehow went undrafted in this year’s draft. He has good length and size for his position, something the 76ers urgently need. Whether or not he can take advantage of that will decide his fate moving forward.
14. Adem Bona, PF/C
Will he be able to secure the third-string center role?
While the rookie Bona is a bit undersized as a proprietary big man, the 76ers do envision him as a capable center for can man the backup spot when Andre Drummond is in foul trouble or is sidelined. Given his athleticism, he can definitely secure that spot. Otherwise, the team will be forced to look for safer options.
