Way-too-early trade deadline targets if 76ers disappoint in 2024-25

Here are five trade targets the Philadelphia 76ers can pivot to if they disappoint next season.

4. Dennis Schroder would immediately be Philly’s nominal sixth man

Similar to Clarkson, Dennis Schroder would easily become the 76ers’ nominal sixth man if the team manages to pry him away from Booklyn, a team currently holding a fire sale and not having any functional use for the veteran combo guard in the context of an intentional demolition job save for extracting assets via trade.

Currently suiting up for Germany in Paris, Schroder is a score-first point guard who is also a great offensive kickstart thanks to his driving game. He’s more than capable of directing traffic on both starting and second-unit doses, and is a respectable threat from downtown despite his hold-and-cold profile in that department.

He’s already 30 years old, but the 76ers are currently relying on much older options to back Maxey up. Schroder would easily be the more stable option compared to both Lowry and Jackson, and it’s unlikely that the team would pay for a premium to snag him from the Nets.
