The 2024 Summer Olympics is just a few hours away, and one of the most anticipated events is the men's basketball. The US Men's Basketball Team will be parading its most star-studded lineup in years, and among them is Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid.

Embiid, who decided to suit up for Team USA despite concurrent eligibility with both Cameroon and France, has been starting for the Steve Kerr-coached squad in their previous exhibition matches in the lead-up to Paris. The 76ers star's numbers haven't been pretty, but that should improve as he continues to gel with the team.

The Paris Games will arguably feed fans with its most competitive basketball slate yet. While the US is touted as the heavy favorite to win gold, they will be facing strong competition from the likes of Serbia, France, and Canada, among many others also bannered by NBA stars.

Coverage of Team USA as a collective will be abundant, so we will instead track Embiid's game-by-game performance and stats in his first-ever appearance in the Olympics as he represents the country and the 76ers. Stay tuned as we update this with every passing game.

Game 1 (Men's Group Phase –– Group C): vs Serbia

  • July 28, 11:15 AM EDT, Pierre Mauroy Stadium

  • Play of the Game: Durant stole the show, but Steph Curry's trademark look-away three perfectly summates the Americans' dominant display from rainbow country against the Serbians.
