4. Kings
Harris was linked to Sacramento before the trade deadline, and the Kings certainly want to upgrade their roster after missing the playoffs this season. Their loss to the Pelicans without Zion Williamson in the final Play-In Game stung. Expect the Kings to make moves this summer and a small forward upgrade remains on their wish list.
Malik Monk is an unrestricted free agent and has likely played his last game for Sacramento. The Kings must replace his scoring and offensive punch, but will not have a cap space. They will be limited to the mid-level exception and minimum contracts in free agency.
Via sign-and-trade or Harris being forced to take the mid-level, this is a real possibility. The Kings will struggle to find a better option, and this gives the 31-year-old a chance to contend. Sacramento missed the playoffs in the loaded Western Conference but won 46 games and could jump quickly back into the playoff mix with a few upgrades.
Tobias Harris will have options. If he wants to win, the Sacramento Kings will garner serious consideration. The 6’8 may look to maximize playing time, his offensive role, or money. It will depend on what Harris values but do not rule out the Kings.
