1. Find ball-handler

Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid are doing more playmaking under head coach Nick Nurse. James Harden’s departure played a role in that. The Sixers do not have a true point guard, but they need one when the game slows down in the postseason. The franchise could target a star point guard, but finding one of those will be tough, especially with the Spurs also searching for one.

Philly could trade a couple of second-round draft picks for Tyus Jones before the deadline. He may not be the ideal option, but the 6’1 guard is on an expiring contract. Jones keeps the Sixers' options open and gives them a capable ball-handler and playmaker next to Tyrese Maxey.

Morey and the Sixers should be opportunistic before the trade deadline. Acquiring a strong talent at a discount will push them closer to title contention. They have defined needs and should look to start plugging holes before their finances begin to tighten this summer.

The Philadelphia 76ers should be active and aggressive before Feb. 8, despite Joel Embiid’s injury. They are close to contention and have multiple avenues to improve their roster. Now is the time to start. Will the Sixers make a massive splash? Stay tuned to find out.
