The Philadelphia 76ers are predicted to take back a fan favorite via trade.

With the Philadelphia 76ers parading a very formidable squad ahead of the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season, the roster is unlikely to drastically change unless an extenuating bit comes up. Having said that, the franchise is headed up top by one who doesn’t have the word “settle” in his vocabulary. Need I say more?

As a result, it would probably veer on the safer side to give the ever-active trade forecasters the benefit of the doubt. There has been a grand sum of zero minutes played by anyone so far, but hey, this is Daryl Morey. Somehow, the 76ers are still well-positioned to make a changing of the guard, albeit a minor one, on the margins.

76ers predicted to trade back for fan favorite

Philadelphia will undoubtedly raise the anchor on the trade market at some point this season, especially after a couple of months lapse. Around December is when teams will have the most ammo to put out on the transaction tables. Unsurprisingly, predictions are starting to float around the web.

Bleacher Report predicts the 76ers to go after some names to upgrade the roster to some degree, and one player they hoisted as a potential target is former Sixer forward Georges Niang, who played for the franchise not too long ago.

The burly, yet savvy three-point shooting specialist was a key player for the Cleveland Cavaliers last season, functioning as the team’s resident floor spacer from both forward positions. Despite having the stylings of a square-pegs-in-round-holes, he continued being a productive bench piece thanks to his prowess in the perimeter and ability to stay in front of guys that have moderate foot speed at best.

The 76ers, still in need of augmenting at forward, could actually use a reunion with Niang. They have KJ Martin’s contract and a couple of second-rounders to flip, and the veteran would likely be amenable to a second go-round in Philly.

It’s still way too early to speak with resolution on should-be’s, but Georges Niang is certainly a name to watch out for the Philadelphia 76ers should they find themselves in want of some more shooting and perhaps, fan fare.
