The Sixer Sense Podcast returns on the heels of back-to-back losses by the Sixers. Philly suffered road losses to both the Indiana Pacers and Denver Nuggets, the latter with a severely limited roster. Do these losses have more meaning than is initially thought?
Indiana outplayed the Sixers with Joel Embiid in the lineup and newly acquired Pascal Siakam was the player of the game. Siakam recorded a triple-double and it should make opposing teams wonder what the Pacers will look like when Tyrese Haliburton comes back to play alongside his new teammate.
The Denver game created a range of emotions starting with disbelief when Embiid was a game-time scratch. The medical team saw something they did not like in warmups and opted for the MVP frontrunner to sit out. This news creates natural drama considering Embiid has not played a game in Denver since 2019.
The media loves to run with a narrative that Embiid ducks Jokic, but conveniently leaves out the last two games they played against each other, albeit in Philly. In both matchups, Embiid dominated and proved he is currently the better player. What do Jonathan and Lucas think about Embiid sitting this game out? And what takeaways are there from the inspired play of the bench players in this game?
To close out the podcast, the guys discuss the recently announced NBA All-Star starters. In the Eastern Conference we have: Joel Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum, Damian Lillard, and Tyrese Haliburton. In the Western Conference, it is LeBron James, Nikola Jokic, Kevin Durant, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Luka Doncic. Are there any players that were snubbed from being a starter? Give the podcast a listen at the link below and leave us a comment with your snubs!
