The Sixer Sense Podcast is back on the heels of Joel Embiid versus Nikola Jokic 2024 Part I. The Sixers superstar center returned from his injury absence with back-to-back home games against the Houston Rockets and Denver Nuggets. Jonathan Geib and Lucas Johnson dive into these matchups.
In Embiid's first game back the Sixers won 124- 115 and the MVP put up 41 points and 10 rebounds. He was dominant wire to wire and the Sixers all benefitted from Embiid being back in the lineup. The offensive spacing was noticeably better and the shooters on this Sixers' team thought so as well. The team shot 48.4% from three-point range which is much better than the poor shooting performances in Embiid's absence.
Jonathan and Lucas then dive into arguably the game of the year to this point: Embiid vs Jokic. Joel, on the second consecutive night of play, did not look tired one bit. He was amped for this game and put up another 41 points and added 10 assists as well. Joel outplayed Jokic and even though that was the case, in his postgame interview, Joel called Jokic the best player in the world. What do the guys think about this comment? Was it sincere? And was it the appropriate response from Embiid?
Last up, the guys discuss the recent NBA trade where the Indiana Pacers acquired two-time All-Star, Pascal Siakam, from the Toronto Raptors. The Pacers sent Bruce Brown, Jordan Nwora, and three first-round picks to Canada for Siakam in a move that is likely to shake up the Eastern Conference playoff picture. How will this impact the Sixers and the rest of the NBA trade market as the deadline approaches? Give the podcast a listen at the link below!
