Sixers Podcast: Philly's recent struggles + new rotation
Jonathan Geib and Lucas Johnson are back with The Sixer Sense Podcast! The team has struggled as of late, but there may be silver linings as the team heads into the postseason. Can the Sixers salvage this season?
Starting with the recent string of games, the Sixers took concerning losses to both the Brooklyn Nets and Memphis Grizzlies. Both of these teams are in the dredges of their respective Conferences so even an injury-plagued Philly team should be able to come out with wins. That was not the case. The offensive production was solely on the shoulders of Kelly Oubre Jr. and was not enough.
Speaking of offense, the Sixers have had none of it as of late. Nick Nurse has tried making adjustments to the starting and bench rotations to no avail. In the last six games, the Sixers are averaging 94 points per game. In today's high-scoring NBA, that is an embarrassment. It goes without saying that this team has been without Embiid for all and Maxey for some of those games, but 94 points are still not acceptable. What changes need to be made for this team to produce more offensively?
Kyle Lowry has taken on a greater role than many expected when the Sixers acquired him in the buyout market. Jonathan and Lucas debate if this current roster construction can get the Sixers into the 6-seed to avoid the Play-In Tournament. What do you think?
