An exhaustive list of to-dos await the Philadelphia 76ers this summer. On the heels of what has been a giant slap of reality for the franchise, the front office will have no other choice but to follow through on what this season has gravely implied — that there remains some hard pills to swallow that need to be addressed.

In all reality, though, even a drastic change this offseason may not be enough to solve the underlying issues hounding the team latently, but even getting to that degree of a switch-up could be difficult, The 76ers brass will not have as much financial ammo to launch some wild moves this time around in stark contrast to the extremely ample leeway they enjoyed last year.

For the most part, Philly will be constrained into effectuating some of these changes through the upcoming 2025 NBA Draft, alongside the proverbial small-scale, minimum signings. Another pathway to improvement for this team is, ironically, keeping those who have proven themselves as viable components for this squad.

The 76ers will be under a ton of pressure with Quentin Grimes

One player who has definitely made a strong case to be a huge part of the team’s plans is Quentin Grimes. Since coming over from Dallas before the trade deadline through a deal that initially got the 76ers much flak, the 24-year-old wing has proven everyone wrong thanks to his strong player as the team’s de facto first option in the absence of its nominal stars.

Grimes has performed so well that despite the 76ers logging losses after losses, he managed to gain consideration for the league’s Player of the Week award. Chicago’s Coby White got the nod for this week’s iteration, but Grimes was among the nominees for the mini-plum.

Him getting this much recognition only reinforces the fact that the 76ers could be handcuffed into handing him the lofty price tag that his current level of production commands. Again, that could result to some significant repercussions for them flexibility-wise, but they would most likely get crucified if they just skip on the opportunity to secure his services.

Still, there is credence to the argument that the 76ers should keep in mind that his role is currently magnified, and thus, his production similarly inflated. Philly does not have him in mind as a possible primary option anyway with their litany of other scorers when healthy.

This could end up being an offseason-defining predicament for the Philadelphia 76ers. Hopefully, both sides would be able to strike a good deal that compromises no one.
