4 Things to Watch For Against Washington Wizards
3: Who Will Win the Turnover Battle?
With a combined record of 3-16, it’s not exactly surprising that both the Sixers and Wizards are in the bottom half of the league in turnovers.
In 10 games this year, Philadelphia is averaging 17.3 turnovers per game (tied with the Los Angeles Lakers for fifth most in the NBA) and Washington is 11th in the league with 15.4 giveaways per contest (in nine games).
This is a problematic thing that the Sixers have had issues with over the past several seasons.
Seeing as both teams are playing so poorly this year, it’s likely that whatever team wins the turnover battle will come at as Wednesday’s victor.
The Sixers will need to get the ball in Embiid’s hands in order to have a shot at winning this game, but one of the issues he has had has been turning the ball over. If he can’t keep the rock out of the Wizard’s hands on Wednesday night, expect it to be a long night for both Embiid and the 76ers.
