RECAP: Philadelphia 76ers 133, Brooklyn Nets 114
By Luke Swiatek
The Philadelphia 76ers picked up their first win in a dominant fashion, as Joel Embiid rallied the troops to a resounding victory.
The Nets jumped out to an early 21-11 lead, but the 76ers went on a 27-1 run and never looked back. So much for the Nets having an undefeated preseason.
The final score was lopsided, and so was most of the game. The Philadelphia 76ers had 106 points with 16 minutes left in the game. They outrebounded the Nets by 15. They also had nine more assists.
Embiid was simply unstoppable. He shot more than one free throw for each minute he was in the game. Every time he would get the ball down low, the Nets would send a double team his way, and it still often wasn’t enough.
There were some struggles on the other end of the floor for the 76ers. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson shouldn’t be lighting us up, and Allen Crabbe shouldn’t be able to blow by J.J. Redick and Robert Covington.
Still though, this was an absolute drubbing. The 76ers needed a win to keep their confidence up, and a very solid win is exactly what they got. We’ll worry about the rest later.
