2018 NBA Mock Draft 2.0
By Owen Nelson
The Orlando Magic are a very confusing team. One minute, they give their fans false hope that they’re actually about to realise their potential and start winning. Only to then crumble and fall back into the lottery.
Having just missed out on Collin Sexton, the Magic should draft the next best guard prospect — Lonnie Walker IV. Walker is a gifted scorer, highlighted by his 18.1 points per-40 minutes. Additionally, Waker is shooting an impressive 41.9 percent from behind the arc.
With Mario Hezonja almost certainly leaving this summer, it makes drafting a guard imperative for the Magic. Evan Fournier has looked better this season and Jonathon Simmons looks worth every penny, but apart from that, there’s little else going on. Elfrid Payton looks like a knock-off Rajon Rondo. The Magic needs to fix their backcourt if they wan to be successful.
Trevon Duval will get looks from the Magic but he possesses the same, detrimental flaw as Elfrid Payton — horrendous three-point shooting.
