MVP

There is no question that Furkan Korkmaz deserves the Most Valuable Player award for his performance with the Sixers Summer League Roster. He erupted in the club’s first contest with 40 points and while he had his bad nights, there’s no doubt he had the best overall performance throughout the Sixers Summer League run.

More from Sixers News

He averaged 16.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists, while making 38.5 percent of his shots from the floor and 37.0 percent of his shots from behind the arc. Including the 40 point outburst to begin Summer League, he scored in doubledigits four out of the six games the Sixers played.

However, Korkmaz did have two really bad games and it shows he is still struggling with consistency. With his consistency being an issue, he probably won’t see a much bigger role than he had with the Sixers last year. Korkmaz’s performance showed that the Sixers now have a legit 3-point shooter at the tail end of the bench.

Next: Sixers should prioritize versatility and target Nwaba

The performances of Korkmaz, Bolden and Miles have given the Sixers a good sense on how their roster and their G-League affiliate’s roster should look like next season. Even though the club didn’t have a winning record during the Summer League, it did give the franchise a sense of direction to go with their young talent.
