18. Danny Green, Toronto Raptors

Green is one of the best defensive two-guards in the league, setting the Raptors up with an elite defensive core. Alongside Kawhi Leonard, Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka, Green could help transform the Raptors into the East’s best defensive team. He also shot 36.3 percent from deep last season, but that number has been higher throughout most of his career.

17. Avery Bradley, Los Angeles Clippers

Bradley had a rough 2017-18 campaign, but he should bounce back nicely with some stability next season. He’ll be the Clippers’ starting two-guard, leading a tough-minded defensive backcourt alongside Patrick Beverley.

16. J.J. Redick, Philadelphia 76ers

Redick was one of the Sixers’ most important pieces last season. He was their second-leading scorer, averaging 17.1 points per game, while his off-ball movement was at the center of Brett Brown’s offensive playbook.

Using a barrage of timely screens, cuts and shooting, Redick was one of the Sixers’ biggest glue guys on offense. He opened up a lot for Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, all while putting together a career year individually.

His defense isn’t bad either, but he’s undersized and will be a year older next season. Now 34, it’s reasonable to expect some slippage in that department — which is the only reason he isn’t higher on this list.

Redick’s game and athleticism are both limited, but that doesn’t stop him from doing what he does at an elite level. You could make him a compelling argument to place him a few spots higher on this list, and I might even be underrating his offensive impact.

We’ll see how he looks without another year under his belt.
