9. Donovan Mitchell, Utah Jazz

Mitchell is primed for a big sophomore campaign after challenging (?) Ben Simmons for Rookie of the Year last season. While the Simmons-Mitchell debate has created much angst between the two fanbases, there’s no denying how special Mitchell’s talent is. He’s an absolute stud.

At some point, there’s reason to believe Mitchell can become a full-time point guard given his playmaking chops. Until then, though, his dynamic scoring will be leaned on in Utah’s backcourt. He’ll help lead the charge for a potential top-four seed in the West.

8. Devin Booker, Phoenix Suns

Booker has been subject to “big numbers, bad team” arguments ever since he came into the league. It’s true that his defense needs to improve, but there’s no denying his offensive talent. He’s growing as a playmaker and is already one of the league’s elite individual scorers.

7. CJ McCollum, Portland Trail Blazers

McCollum improved last season, becoming a passable defender and continuing his growth as a playmaker. Much has been said about the Damian Lillard-McCollum backcourt and its lack of success, but McCollum is an effective comboguard with undeniable star qualities.
