Center: Joel Embiid

Embiid will continue to patrol the interior for the Sixers. An arguable top-three MVP candidate through 14 games, Embiid will need to give up some shots to Butler. Finding the right balance between those two is of the utmost importance.

Given their skill sets, both should work together. Butler can cut and spot up off Embiid post-ups, while Embiid can work the pick-and-roll with Butler. Fitting three stars together is always a challenge, but Brown has the coaching chops to make it work.

Embiid has been an absolute force to begin the season, featuring two 40-point games (and one 39-point game), as well as 13 double-doubles in 14 nights. He’s going to continue his ascension to elite status, but Butler will undoubtedly alter the shot distribution and add new wrinkles to the offense.

On the defensive end, Embiid will still anchor the middle while Butler and Simmons fill Covington’s void on the perimeter. It’s hard to put enough emphasis on how impressive the Sixers’ defensive core is, not to mention the offensive potential.
