3. Jimmy Butler

December Stats: GP 11| MINS 30.9| FG% 44.4| 3P% 30.8| FT% 90.2| TRB 4.4| AST 3.4| BKL 0.5| STL 1.7| PF 1.6| TOV 1.2| PTS 18.4

Previous ranking: 3rd

The dip in Jimmy Butler’s 3-point percentage in December was somewhat concerning. Especially with his two co-stars needing all the space they can get to operate inside the paint. Overall it wasn’t a bad month for the All-Star wing. However, it would help solve some of the problems that the Sixers are having on offense if Butler could increase his 3-point percentage. It should also be noted that he had back-to-back 38 point games in the beginning of the month.

2. Joel Embiid

December Stats: GP 11| MINS 33.3| FG% 51.4| 3P% 22.2| FT% 82.1| TRB 13.1| AST 3.5| BKL 1.5| STL 0.5| PF 3.3| TOV 4.2| PTS 24.3

Previous ranking: 1st

More from The Sixer Sense

The reason Joel Embiid isn’t number one in these rankings has nothing to do with him. He’s still the best player on the roster by far and he is still worthy of MVP talk despite his dip in production from November’s player rankings. Regardless if it’s fatigue or not, Embiid can hopefully get back to peak form sooner rather than later.

There’s really only two things that Embiid could improve upon going into January. If he can cut down on the turnovers and increase the 3-point percentage, it would put the Sixers in a much better place. It should also be noted that the big man made Sixers history with having a 40 point and 21 rebound game against the Indiana Pacers.

1. Ben Simmons

December Stats: GP 13| MINS 33.5| FG% 62.0| FT% 54.4| TRB 10.3| AST 7.8| BKL 0.8| STL 1.4| PF 2.5| TOV 3.2| PTS 17.2

Previous ranking: 2nd

The biggest point guard in the NBA stepped up his game in December. The addition of Butler has seemed to have lit a fire under Ben Simmons. While fans finally saw Simmons take a long jump shot and make it on Christmas day, his overall long range game isn’t here yet. He had four triple-doubles and five double-doubles in the month. Simmons’ overall improvement earned him the opportunity to be the top player of the month.

Next. Sixers still have time to repair the Butler situation. dark

The Philadelphia 76ers roster may be top heavy, but there’s no doubt that the top of the roster is stacked. This concludes the player rankings for the month of December. Do you agree? Comment below what your player rankings would be.
