FanSided’s Josh Wilson hops on the podcast to discuss everything surrounding the Philadelphia 76ers’ impending free agency.
Free agency is set to kick off in roughly 48 hours. The Philadelphia 76ers will have a lot of tough decisions to make in the coming days and weeks, as three starters in Jimmy Butler, Tobias Harris, and J.J. Redick are set to hit the open market.
We were fortunate enough to be joined by Josh Wilson, current editorial director of the NBA division at FanSided and former site expert here at The Sixer Sense, to discuss all things free agency as it pertains to the Sixers.
Josh, Jack Duffy, Joe DiProsperos and Matt Burnham open up the episode by discussing the biggest issue at hand: will both Tobias Harris and Jimmy Butler remain in Philly to run it back? If not, who is more likely to leave, why, and where would he sign?

They then touch on J.J. Redick’s impending free agency and the chances he returns for a third season and, possibly, beyond in Philly. Spoiler alert: they’re pretty confident it happens.
Shifting gears to the bench, they discuss what the Sixers should do with fan-favorite Mike Scott and James Ennis III. Both are also slated to be free agents come June 30, and it’s looking very likely that the Sixers will only be able to retain one of them if they so choose. The guys consider the pros and cons of keeping either one.
They also examine whether or not it’d be worth it for the Sixers to bring back Boban Marjanovic considering his limitations on the court.
Plus, they address the fact that this could potentially be the end of the road for T.J. McConnell in Philly.
The guys then turn their attention to the rest of the landscape of the NBA by looking at other players who could potentially peak the interest of the Sixers. Considering the salary cap ramifications the Sixers could potentially find themselves in if they either fully or only partially run it back, it will be interesting to see how the front office goes about addressing various pressing needs.
They wrap up this episode by examining the Jimmy Butler to Houston chatter that has been making the rounds the last couple of days and why the Rockets are far from an ideal fit for one Jimmy G. Buckets (the “G” stands for “Gets”).
Big shout out to Josh for taking the time to talk with us. Go
if you don’t already. The man knows his stuff and is a great follow.
