Not having to share the floor with Embiid did good things for Al Horford during January. While his 3-point shot wasn’t at a good percentage, the rest of his game flourished. His chemistry with the Sixers star point guard was evident during that month as well. He proved to be a solid insurance policy for Embiid in January.

Tobias Harris played up to the worth of the contract he received this past summer. One of the mains reasons being was that he played at his more natural position of power forward as a result of the injuries. He scored over 20 points in six games and recorded three double-doubles. Hopefully, Harris can produce like this more often.
1. Ben Simmons
January Stats: GP 13| MINS 38.8| FG% 62.6| FT% 67.4| TRB 9.4| AST 7.7| BKL 0.5| STL 2.3| PF 3.0| TOV 2.8| PTS 22.2

Without Embiid, Ben Simmons had all the room in the world to operate in the paint. As a result, the Sixers played faster and Simmons could be the main focal point of the offense. He finished the month with seven double-doubles and two triple-doubles. It’s safe to say that Simmons was able to tap into his true potential as a star. If he can do this with Embiid, then the 76ers will be true contenders.
Injuries made January a tough month for the Philadelphia 76ers, but the team still had a winning record and more importantly, it allowed several players a chance to shine.
