Shake Milton has a bright future with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Out of all the players who’s futures with the Philadelphia 76ers have been evaluated thus far, Shake Milton has the best chance to have a long and prosperous future with the franchise moving forward.

After playing most of his rookie season in the G-League, there’s wasn’t super high expectations when the Sixers gave him a cheap four-year contract with a fifth-year team option. However, in the second half of this year, he’s easily outperformed the worth of his contract.

Milton’s breakout season.

More from The Sixer Sense

On the season, he’s averaged 9.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists, while converting 45.3 percent of his 3-pointers. However, his breakout stretch after the All-Star break has been especially impressive.

In 10 post-All-Star break games, Milton averaged 16.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists, while making 59.2 percent of his attempts from downtown. During that stretch, he recorded a 39-point game and tied the NBA’s record for 13-consecutive made 3-pointers over the stretch of three games.

Whether Milton becomes the third star to the 76ers dynamic duo of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons or if he’s just a solid rotation player is yet to be seen. However, there’s no denying that the 6-foot-5 combo guard has legit talent and should be able to help the Sixers in seasons to come.

The best part is that after this season, he will still be on a contract that won’t exceed $2 million for the next four seasons which is a steal for Philly as well. The only way he’s not having a bright future with the franchise is if he regresses at an extreme level or they use him in a trade. Both of which seem unlikely at this time.

The Philadelphia 76ers have a player that appears to be apart of their core and on a cheap deal, which means that Milton should have a bright future in Philly.
