The 2020 NBA Draft is right around the corner, and the Philadelphia 76ers are guaranteed multiple seats at the table.
As the NBA gears up for a belated end to the season, it’s easy to forget about the 2020 NBA Draft. It’s right around the corner. The lottery is currently scheduled for August 20, while the draft itself will take place on October 16 — barring any further changes, of course.
The Philadelphia 76ers own a single first-round pick (top-20 protected, courtesy of OKC) and five second-round picks. While the Sixers aren’t guaranteed to keep all six picks, it’s likely Philadelphia will have ample opportunity to improve the roster this fall.
We recently compiled a roundtable mock draft here at the site. Five writers participated. Christopher Kline, Lucas Johnson, Adam Gilbert, Jonathan Geib, and Matt Plesco were all assigned a handful of teams and tasked with making selections for those teams. You can read the final product here.
In order to both revisit and expand upon that mock draft, all five contributors got together for a podcast version of the very same mock. The picks are announced in order from 1-60, with the contributors offering insight as to why each prospect was selected.
The Sixers in particular target a wealth of perimeter talent, while the draft as a whole starts with a couple hot takes. Potential steals and pre-draft favorites are mentioned throughout, each contributor unveiling his own preferences.
Once the mock is complete, the discussion briefly turns to our Twitter Poll of the Week. The quintet talks Sixers playoff matchups, and more specifically, which Eastern Conference powerhouse causes the most problems on paper. Milwaukee, Toronto, Miami, and Boston are all mentioned.
This is the first of two planned roundtable mock drafts this season. We will compile another one after the lottery order is finalized, and you can expect another podcast episode when the time comes. Until then, bask in the knowledge dropped by our talented contributors on this episode, and keep taps on
our sprawling draft coverage here at the site

As always, you can listen and subscribe to the podcast on iTunes, Spreaker, and Google Play. Please leave a positive review if you feel so inclined — it’s greatly appreciated. We also graciously accept any constructive criticism. The goal is to get better each episode.
A big thanks to Adam, Jonathan, and Matt for jumping on the podcast this week. You can read their work here at the site, and follow both Adam (@adam_gib11) and Matt (@Matt_Plesco) on Twitter.
