Sixers podcast: Roster shaping up | preseason schedule | who has most to prove?
By Uriah Young
Recently, more moves were made to shape the Sixers roster, and the preseason schedule was released. Questions of leadership arise, and who has the most to prove this season? These issues and more in this week’s episode of The Sixer Sense Podcast.
As the Philadelphia 76ers’ season approaches, anticipation rises and expectations begin to take form. Lucas Johnson and Christopher Kline open up the podcast with the recent signings of potential contributing role players. Justin Anderson, Ryan Broekhoff, and Derrick Walton are mentioned early in the pod in terms of what they bring to the table and who could take the Sixers’ last roster spot.
Next, the podcast goes into the preseason schedule, which was released last week. There are only two games, Boston and Indiana, and the 76ers will have to make due with the limited play heading into the 2020-2021 season. Lucas and Chris discuss what to watch for against the Celtics and Pacers in mid-December.
From there, the podcast dives into locker room leadership. With Al Horford and Josh Richardson now gone, the Sixers will need more veterans to step in and show maturity that several Sixers lack. Who will that be? Danny Green? Dwight Howard? The conversation brings up the past roles such players had with other teams to offer insight as to what the 76ers can expect in the locker room and on the court.
Lastly, the question of the week, which we post every weekend on Twitter and Facebook, is shared. Also, the responses from two TSS followers are read, and the two people have their names mentioned in the podcast. The question branches out into a heated conversation between Lucas, Chris, and Uriah, as they debate about who has the most to prove in this upcoming season. Is it Doc Rivers, Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, or Ben Simmons? Listen and find out the results.
