Dallas Mavericks

The Josh Richardson era only lasted one season with the 76ers. Due to injuries and poor roster construction, his tenure with the franchise was underwhelming, to say the least. He was traded to the Mavericks this offseason where it’s expected he’ll start as a lock-down perimeter defender for the club.

Point guard Trey Burke could have helped Philadelphia offensive owes in a major way last season if former head coach Brett Brown actually used him. He signed with the Mavs after getting cut halfway through the season and exploded in the NBA Bubble. He turned that great performance into a three-year deal to return to Dallas. He should be in the mix for a regular role off the bench this upcoming season.

Detroit Pistons

Former third overall pick Jahlil Okafor is considered one of the bigger busts in recent draft history. Despite leaving Philly on a very low note of his career, center Okafor has had a nice journey of redemption. He flamed out with the Nets before finding a home with the New Orleans Pelicans for the past two seasons. Now he goes to the Pistons to fight for minutes in a loaded frontcourt.

After being traded from the Sixers to the Thunder, Jerami Grant has slowly become a very good two-way forward in the NBA. Besides the Thunder, Grant played for the Nuggets last season and signed with the Pistons this offseason. Considering he signed with Detroit to have a bigger offensive role, per Sam Amick of The Athletic, it’s probably safe to assume he will probably be starting.
