The NBA trade deadline is quickly approaching and there doesn’t seem to be much traction in terms of trade talks. Despite the fact that the Philadelphia 76ers need to upgrade their roster in several areas, they haven’t made a move yet.

If the Sixers’ front office is in search of a worthy trade partner, then they should look no further than to the Sacramento Kings. Out of all the teams in the NBA, the Kings have the best reason to make a deal and most tradeable players that should entice the 76ers.

The reasons why the Philadelphia 76ers should pursue the Kings for a trade.

More from The Sixer Sense

It’s been a long time since Sacramento has appeared in the playoffs and that doesn’t appear to be changing anytime soon. They have the third worst record in the Western Conference at 15-24 and are currently 5.5 games out of the eighth spot in the West.

With the Kings being a bottom team in their conference they need to do a mini rebuild around De’Aaron Fox and Tyrese Haliburton being the two core players. In the past here on The Sixers Sense, players like Marvin Bagley III and Nemanja Bjelica have been mentioned as potential trade targets this season. However, they aren’t the only players who Sacramento could deal away for draft assets on the trade deadline.

Buddy Hield, Harrison Barnes, Hassan Whiteside, and even Jabari Parker could be players who could help upgrade the roster as Philly makes a playoff push. Whiteside and Parker are on tradeable deals and as of late aren’t make much of an impact for the Kings. With the emergence of Haliburton as a franchise cornerstone, either Hield or Barnes would have to go to make room in the starter five for the combo guard.

With a first year general manager in charge in Sacramento, the Philadelphia 76ers could be in play to upgrade their roster as the King retool and rebuild around the guard tandem.
